New Tim Hortons EO, Marc Caira, is working to improve the reputation of a brand, that not necessarily has lost traction, rather has failed to gain it with the spring chickens.

Who wants to selfie with a Tim Hortons cup when all the stars are selfy-ing (new verb in the making?) with Starbucks cups- often more esthetically pleasing, and better tasting (sorry TH). Well this can very well change with some effective content marketing, menu updating and engaging with tastemaker's and what Malcolm Gladwell calls, connectors, who are extraordinarily powerful in that they give us access to opportunities and worlds to which we don't necessarily belong in.

 In this day and age, social media presence is key. CEO Caira sees this importance.

Pitching double-double's to the world, Tim Horton's new celebrity ambassador, Zimmerman, speaks to a new audience and represents a brand he has long been known to hype via his social media outlets. The episodes are funny, informative, and reveal the human-side of the industries big names.

Why it works? Because it's not in your face BUY TIM HORTONS propaganda.
It's content marketing- curating cool content while softly showcasing a good ol' cup o' Joe.

Wanna know how PW takes his bagel (Carmel apple bagel)....just regular? Toasted with butter? Yes. Or, "Yes, please" as any good Canadian would reply.

An interesting concept, and one that works, for me anyway.
