Kayiwa Shelf

This Kayiwa shelf is so super cool! It can be used to store books, cds or can just be used a room divider.

I can't believe I am posting about GG.

Note: I am not a fan of the show, I am a fan of most of the cast, the clothing selection, upper east side, and the beautifully decorated penthouse suites. Thank you Apartment Therapy for sharing this! PS. This Apartment Therapy site is something I fell upon about a month or so and I am really into it! Take a look!

This is why I wish I lived in Vancouver...

Old news, but I sitll want these sooo bad! These Wellingtons croc print boots are perfect, but not for Alberta.

birds

There was an abundance of birds in my yard today, it was really weird. I took these photos from my bedroom window. I am quite pleased with how they turned out. Notice that in the pictures with the birds flying the black dots all over the trees are birds. Seriously, pictures do not do it justice.

Chloé Comme Parris

For the first time ever, sisters Chloé and Parri Gordon brought their label to Toronto Fashion Week. Canada's FASHION magazine covered the show and this was the first time I was ever hearing about them. I must say this was quite an impressive show! Learn more about Chloé Comme Parris  here.

Contemporary, simplistic, slouchy, effortlessly beautiful and athletically stylish!

A good read, a really good read.

Cherry
 A novel by Chandra Mayor

I had to read this book for one of my classes. It is rare, really rare that I enjoy a novel, in this case a novella, that is an assigned reading. Needless to say, it's a quick read and you can't put it down. It's a sad and gripping story about a woman's "negotiation of violence, memory and identity". I recommend it to anyone looking for a good read.

Chandra Mayor is a Canadian author who resides in Winnipeg. Reading her book is like reading a long poem; it's beautiful. She writes with a contemporary and unique style that is very attractive to readers (well I can't speak on behalf of everyone).

Oprah should consider this for her book club because it's a book that is real and a book that can resonate with others.
Read more about Mayor here  and seriously pick up a copy. It's good to know that good books are still being made.

Here's a quote that really stuck with me:

"You kill the women by cutting them off from each other. Then we kill ourselves and you wash your hands, smooth and clean."
